Employee Benefits Administrator

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our wonderful Corporate Benefits team within Benefex Financial Solutions, the broking arm of Benefex Ltd.

Purpose of role:

The main purpose of this role is to support the BFS back-office processes to ensure that best practice, compliance and FCA standards are met.  There will be significant emphasis on Healthcare Benefit Administration, encompassing all aspects of setting up and administering Group Private Medical, Dental, Healthcare Cash Plan and Health Assessment scheme for a range of corporate clients. This includes supporting the Corporate Benefits Account Manager(s) in a wide range of tasks.

This is a broad role with exposure to clients and providers across all employee benefits and therefore experience in group risk and healthcare benefits would also be useful.  The role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual to help with the on-going growth of the BFS business.  You will personally contribute to the efficiency and high performance of the team by prioritising and managing their workload and delivering on time whilst adhering at all times to BFS compliance procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

General

  • Understand and work within BFS Compliance procedures at all times
  • Ensure Benefex data protection policy is adhered to at all times
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of Benefex systems and processes

Employee Benefit administration

Invoicing and Accounts

  • Reconcile accounts and invoices
  • Chase premiums within agreed deadlines

Scheme Membership

  • Ensure that membership of schemes is up to date
  • Adding, removing and making changes to member policies via provider internet portals
  • Liaising with providers to ensure members underwriting and premiums are correct

Claims handling/queries

  • Liaising with providers and corporate clients where necessary

Broking

  • Obtain scheme information
  • Request quotations
  • Chase insurers for terms
  • Collate responses
  • Drafting recommendation reports for Dental Insurance and Health Cash Plans

Other

  • Sending data to providers
  • Request/check/issue policy documents
  • Commission queries
  • Ensure scheme specifications are kept up to date
  • General queries from clients and insurers
  • Maintain the security of the premises and the data held within it and to ensure that any data processed is completed in secure environment in accordance with the Information Security Policy and associated documents
  • Ad hoc duties as required

Skills, knowledge & experience

Essential:

  • Good standard of general education (GCSE/A level or equivalent) to include a high level of numeracy and literacy
  • Good administrative skills
  • Good Analytical skills
  • Good PC skills essential
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Excel (to advanced standard)
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Access
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Good customer service skills – will be liaising with both providers

  • Desire to learn and develop

Desirable:

  • CII exams IF1, GR1
  • Administration experience dealing with:
  • Healthcare products (PMI, dental, cash plans or health screens)
